Alzheimer’s disease is an increasing concern for the aging American population. It is important for healthcare providers to have a basic familiarity with the disease, in order to provide adequate diagnosis, treatment, and referrals. This course, based on documents from the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer’s Association, provides an overview of the prevalence, causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and progression of Alzheimer’s disease, as well as information about caregiving and caregiver support.
