Overview / Abstract:

Program Overview
This module will focus on the links between atopy, specifically allergic rhinitis and childhood asthma. The goal is to enhance the ability of primary care providers (PCPs) to identify patients with allergic conditions that are associated with asthma.

Target audience
This activity is designed for physicians and nurses who care for patients with asthma.

Learning objectives
After the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
-Describe the relationship between upper airway and lower airways in allergic rhinitis.
-Describe the role allergy plays in the development of asthma.
-Discuss common wheezing phenotypes.

Method of Participation
In order to receive credit, participants should read the entire monograph, complete and submit an evaluation and score at least 70% on the self-assessment test.
