Overview / Abstract:

In this knowledge-based continuing pharmacy education activity Dr Michael Smith, RPh, PharmD, CACP discusses pharmacist reimbursement issues for anticoagulation services.
Target Audience

Pharmacists who are interested in the management of patients on anticoagulation therapy and/or who are interested in starting pharmacy services for patients on anticoagulation therapy.
This activity is not accredited for technicians.
Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the activity, pharmacists will be able to:

Identify the reimbursement issues with a pharmacist-run anticoagulation service or clinic.
Describe the process for billing for anticoagulation services.
Identify challenges and obstacles for reimbursement issues for anticoagulation services.
Discuss solutions to the challenges of reimbursement for pharmacist-run anticoagulation services.
