Overview / Abstract: |
Research consistently links diet to overall health and weight management. In 2014, over 35 percent of Minnesotans were overweight—and according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, that percentage is only increasing. To combat the health risks and excessive cost associated with obesity and malnutrition, primary care clinicians need knowledge, tools and strategies to offer effective, evidence-based nutrition counseling, care and support for patients. Why Better Eating Matters: Practical Nutrition for Clinicians will explore how the care team can use the latest nutrition information, collaborate with dietitians and provide education and resources to optimize patients’ positive health outcomes. Local and regional experts will provide up-to-date, evidence based information that: This program includes direct interaction with faculty as well as the use of an audience response system (ARS). |
