Overview / Abstract: |
Primary care clinicians are often the 1st point of contact in the health care system and play a major role in helping patients manage musculoskeletal conditions. Having up-to date knowledge, practice guidelines and medical skills empowers primary care clinicians to provide accessible, cost-effective care and improve patient outcomes. From Head and Shoulders to Knees and Toes: An Orthopaedic Update for Primary Care offers practical approaches to orthopaedic problems and addresses the newest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. The conference features new topics on vestibular/ocular motor screening (VOMS, also known as concussion testing), nerve entrapments, gait abnormalities, fragility fractures and osteoporosis, and includes special sessions on sports medicine and medical optimization for joint replacement. Customized learning is possible by attending hands-on basic, advanced and pediatric examination sessions, splinting and casting workshops and optional lunch-and learn sessions on commonly missed fractures. Time for questions and direct interaction with faculty will be available. Educational objectives |
