Overview / Abstract:

Held annually in New York City, the Best of the Big Apple OB-GYN Ultrasound conference is an accredited three day exploration of the most relevant and up-do-date OB-GYN Ultrasound information.

This course is designed for physicians and sonographers in the fields of gynecologic and obstetric imaging, as well as residents in obstetrics and gynecology, or radiology, and fellows in maternal-fetal medicine. This course may also be valuable to family physicians practicing obstetrics, advanced practice nurses and physician assistants working in gynecology and obstetrics.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this conference, the participant will be able to:

Observe clinical signs of early pregnancy failure to differentiate abnormally developing early pregnancies from normal

Understand which patients and which pathologies benefit from a 3D ultrasound and which do not.

Recognize the imaging challenges and pitfalls in fetal heart imaging

Evaluate sonographic findings associated with pelvic pain due to ovarian torsion and gastrointestinal disease

Develop a systemic approach to fetal brain anatomy

Form an appropriate differential of an adnexal mass based on the imaging appearance and clinical scenario

Explain the complexities of prenatal screening and diagnostic testing options, including new genomic tests

Understand how skeletal dysplasias are classified and how those classifications apply to the prenatal diagnosis

Distinguish adherent placenta spectrum images from normal placenta development

Identify the “don’t miss” complications of monochorionic twinning

Understand the mechanics of sonohysterography to distinguish perimenopausal bleeding associated with dysfunction vs. polyps vs submucous myomas.
