Overview / Abstract: |
Psoriasis is significantly undertreated or not treated at all despite readily available treatment guidelines. Although there are multiple agents approved for the treatment of psoriasis, many patients still do not achieve optimal efficacy demonstrated by clear or almost clear skin. In addition, many patients are dissatisfied with their current treatment for psoriasis. Studies have shown that poor patient satisfaction can lead to poor adherence and consequently poor patient outcomes. Further, there is a lack of team-based care as reported by faculty experts. This is a key area that needs addressed in order to improve the care of patients. This short 25-minute CME Outfitters activity - or "CMEO Snack" - features expert faculty who address how to bridge patient satisfaction with optimal efficacy, and teach how to integrate an interpersonal model of care into clinical practice. Finally, this snack will introduce patient education and engagement enhanced through a Pack health educational toolkit and coaching sessions. |
