Pathology Update 2018: What you need to know about new AJCC staging and WHO classifications

Overview / Abstract:

Dr. Mahul Amin, editor of the 8th edition of the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, joins an elite roster of speakers for this third annual 2.5-day general surgical pathology course. Covering a broad range of subjects in diagnostic pathology, the central themes for this year's course include staging changes found in the 8th edition of the AJCC tumor staging manual, and updates in WHO classification. Organ systems discussed include breast, head and neck, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, soft tissue, gynecologic, genitourinary, endocrine, and hematologic. Presentations will summarize changes to terminology and staging; these lectures also include practical discussion of diagnostic challenges, need-to-know molecular updates, and emerging issues. Attendee participation is encouraged via audience response system and engaging case reviews.
