Overview / Abstract:	EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of the activity, learners should be better able to: • Describe the relationship of immune activation and inflammation and how they can impact non HIV co-morbidities • Discuss the potential pathways such as microbial translocation that can contribute to immune activation/inflammation in HIV subjects TARGET AUDIENCE Physicians (both specialists and primary care/family medicine) and nurses who are frontline providers of care to persons at risk of or with HIV infection. Other healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners and physician assistants, involved in caring for these individuals may also participate.
