The practice of dispensing any medication faces a certain amount of control and regulation, but when that medication is considered a "Controlled Substance" by the DEA, the control and regulation is taken to a whole new level. This module focuses on the intricacies of controlled substance laws and regulations as well as other practice nuances that will benefit any clinic considering dispensing these medications. Learning Objectives: 1. Navigate online resources to find specific laws and regulations regarding controlled substances; Controlled Substances and Inventory: Issues for Maryland's Dispensing Physicians The purpose of the Physician Dispensing in Maryland Educational Series is to: Promote consistency and high quality dispensing of prescription medications in all settings in Maryland; and Successful completion requires the learner to complete all practice based activity components including the audiovisual presentations, post-test, and Activity Evaluation. Participants must receive a score of at least 70% on the post-test in order to receive credit. The post-test may be taken up to three (3) times.
