A Multifaceted Approach to Health Care Quality & Patient Safety

Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

ABQAURP’s 40th Annual Health Care Quality & Patient Safety Conference (HCQ&PS) will deliver multiple innovations, models, and best practices that have evolved to address the challenges you are facing. As we address our core competencies, high quality and safe health care still remain anchored to the partnership between patients and their health care providers.

Today’s health care is provided in multiple settings, relying on people with varied expertise and training, under a variety of payment scenarios. Volume to value, fee for service to capitated risk, acute “sick care” to prevention and chronic disease management are just a few of the situations health care providers must face. ABQAURP will demonstrate a multifaceted approach to streamline the management of health care and improve patient outcomes. Explore strategies and emerging solutions to successfully implement into your daily practice or health care organization.

At the conclusion of the activity, attendees will be able to:

• Utilize quality improvement tools to reduce harm and increase safety across the care continuum
• Achieve data transparency while protecting your organization, patients, and providers
• Assess leadership roles in your organization and identify practical steps to prepare for leading change
• Evaluate the significant leadership role Physician Advisors are playing in the drive for cost-effective, high quality health care
• Demonstrate the relationship between better care and higher reimbursement using new regulatory reporting systems
• Analyze the impact of inadequate behavioral health and overcoming burnout in the health profession
• Describe quality improvement tools that will improve both patient outcomes and reimbursement
• Evaluate one health system’s care management model in determining risk and reintroduction to the community
• Determine which quality measures will influence your practice in measuring quality of care
