Virtual Patient: Asthma in the Older Adult

Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

This patient simulation requires an evaluation and creation of a treatment plan for an older adult (>65 years old) with asthma. The case involves identification of differences and similarities between asthma and COPD in older adults and consideration of medications and co-morbid conditions that may complicate the management of asthma in this population. A summary of the literature supporting best practices in asthma care in the older adult will be provided.
