Overview " Transportation anxiety is common in felines and can prevent owners from providing optimal care due to the stress and complications of simply getting to the veterinarian. Human pregabalin, alprazolam, and trazadone are some of the current options prescribed to pet owners to help, but pregabalin has been recently FDA-approved for this use in felines only to provide pet owners an easier time taking care of their loved one that has been studied and researched in felines specifically. The purpose of this knowledge-based activity is to review pregabalin primary literature and the pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics/proper administration techniques to allow for optimal counseling and education to pet owners. Overall Activity Goal - The goal of this activity is to educate on the latest FDA-approved medications for veterinary use. Learning Objectives for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Students: 1.
